The “My Dream Can” program combines Dr. Tererai Trent’s new book, “The Girl Who Buried Her Dreams In A Can”, with individual Dream Cans, and a facilitator Lesson Plan.

The Program brings to life the story of The Girl Who Buried Her Dreams in a
Can, a true story authored by Dr. Tererai Trent, beautifully illustrated by Dr. Jan Spivey

With the included material one is able to not only experience the tale, but to experience it themselves by recording their dreams and placing them inside the included tin and burying it, if they wish. The program aligns with Dr. Trent’s vision to place the book in the hands of every child in diverse communities through partnerships with organizations across the globe.

The overall goal will focus on empowerment, literacy and educational engagement to support children in inner cities in the U.S. and internationally. The goal is for each child to child to explore the world within their imagination, become ambassadors for change and achieve their dreams no matter what life hardships they might face. It is a must read
inspirational book for all children.

“The Girl Who Buried Her Dreams in a Can” not only delivers a powerful message to young children about the importance of quality education for all, but also provides unique inspiration and guidance for children to write down their personal dreams and participate in crafting collective dreams for their school and community.”
